Imitating Men is Cursing

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) cursed women who imitate men in their clothing and behavior.

Ibn AbuMulaykah told that when someone remarked to Aisha that a woman was wearing sandals, she replied: The Messenger of Allah cursed mannish women.
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ، لُوَيْنٌ - وَبَعْضُهُ قِرَاءَةً عَلَيْهِ - عَنْ سُفْيَانَ، عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي مُلَيْكَةَ، قَالَ قِيلَ لِعَائِشَةَ رضى الله عنها إِنَّ امْرَأَةً تَلْبَسُ النَّعْلَ ‏.‏ فَقَالَتْ لَعَنَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ الرَّجُلَةَ مِنَ النِّسَاءِ

Women should not try to imitate men or act like them in any way because this goes against the teachings of Islam. It is important for Muslim women to remember that they are expected to dress modestly and behave respectfully at all times so as not to incur the wrath of Allah SWT.
