Stay away from luxurious items .

The hadith narrated by Ibn Abi Laila tells us about a story of Hudhaifah who was in al-Madain and asked for water. A peasant brought him a silver vessel, but he threw it away because the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) had forbidden people to wear silk or brocade, and to drink from gold and silver vessels. He said that others have them in this world but we will not have them in the next life, meaning that these items are symbols of luxury which will not be available after death. This teaches us to stay away from luxurious items as they do not benefit us spiritually or materially in the afterlife. We should focus on our spiritual development instead of materialistic possessions so we can gain rewards from Allah SWT on Judgment Day.
