EXPLANATIONS:
The hadith narrated by Ali ibn AbuTalib states that the Prophet Muhammad forbade us from using pumpkins, green jars, hollow stumps and wine made from barley. This hadith is a reminder for us to stay away from things that are forbidden in Islam. Pumpkins are a type of fruit which can be eaten but not used in any other way such as drinking or making wine out of it. Green jars are containers made out of clay or glass which were used to store liquids such as water and oil in ancient times. Hollow stumps refer to tree trunks with hollowed-out centers which were also used for storing liquids like water and oil. Lastly, wine made from barley is an alcoholic beverage which is forbidden in Islam due to its intoxicating effects on people's minds and bodies. This hadith serves as a reminder for us to stay away from these items so we can remain true believers of Islam who abide by its teachings and laws.
