Prohibition of Intoxicants and Languidness-Inducing Substances

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) forbade the consumption of any intoxicants and substances that cause drowsiness.

Narrated Umm Salamah, Ummul Mu'minin: The Messenger of Allah forbade every intoxicant and everything which produces languidness.
حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو شِهَابٍ عَبْدُ رَبِّهِ بْنُ نَافِعٍ، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو الْفُقَيْمِيِّ، عَنِ الْحَكَمِ بْنِ عُتَيْبَةَ، عَنْ شَهْرِ بْنِ حَوْشَبٍ، عَنْ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ، قَالَتْ نَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ عَنْ كُلِّ مُسْكِرٍ وَمُفَتِّرٍ

This hadith is about the prohibition of intoxicants and substances that induce languidness.
