Sunan Abi Dawud 3597 (Book 25, Hadith 27) #23887
The Consequences of Interfering with Allah's Punishments

SUMMARY: This hadith is about the consequences of intervening in Allah's punishments, disputing about something false, and making an untruthful accusation against a Muslim.

Yahya ibn Rashid said: We were sitting waiting for Abdullah ibn Umar who came out to us and sat. He then said: I heard the Messenger of Allah as saying: If anyone's intercession intervenes as an obstacle to one of the punishments prescribed by Allah, he has opposed Allah; if anyone disputes knowingly about something which is false, he remains in the displeasure of Allah till he desists, and if anyone makes an untruthful accusation against a Muslim, he will be made by Allah to dwell in the corrupt fluid flowing from the inhabitants of Hell till he retracts his statement.

QUICK LESSONS:
Respect for Others' Rights , Avoidance of Disputes Involving Falsehood , Be Careful Not To Interfere With What Has Been Prescribed By God , Be Truthful When Speaking About Others .

EXPLANATIONS:
Abdullah ibn Umar was sitting with a group of people when he shared a hadith from the Prophet Muhammad. He said that if anyone interferes with one of Allah’s punishments, they are opposing Him. If someone knowingly disputes something that is false, they will remain in the displeasure of Allah until they stop doing so. Additionally, if someone makes an untruthful accusation against another Muslim, then Allah will make them dwell in the corrupt fluid flowing from Hell until they retract their statement. This hadith teaches us to be careful not to interfere with what has been prescribed by God and to be truthful when speaking about others as it can have serious consequences for us in this life and hereafter. We should also strive to stay away from any kind of dispute or argument which involves falsehood as it displeases God and can lead us astray from His path.
