Eating with Companions

SUMMARY: One should not eat two dates together at a time unless they get permission from their companions.

Narrated Ibn 'Umar: The Prophet decreed that one should not eat two dates together at a time unless he gets the permission from his companions (sharing the meal with him).

QUICK LESSONS:
Ask for permission before taking something shared by others.
EXPLANATIONS:
The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ taught us that when we are eating with our companions, we should not take two dates at once without asking for permission first. This teaches us to be considerate of others and to think of them before ourselves. We should always remember to ask for permission before taking something that is shared by others. It also teaches us the importance of being polite and courteous in our interactions with others.
