Sacrifice in Obedience to the Prophet

SUMMARY: Ali was commanded by the Prophet to sacrifice two rams on his behalf.

Narrated Hanash: I saw Ali sacrificing two rams; so I asked him: What is this? He replied. The Messenger of Allah enjoined upon me to sacrifice on his behalf, so that is what I am doing.
حَدَّثَنَا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا شَرِيكٌ، عَنْ أَبِي الْحَسْنَاءِ، عَنِ الْحَكَمِ، عَنْ حَنَشٍ، قَالَ رَأَيْتُ عَلِيًّا يُضَحِّي بِكَبْشَيْنِ فَقُلْتُ مَا هَذَا فَقَالَ إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ أَوْصَانِي أَنْ أُضَحِّيَ عَنْهُ فَأَنَا أُضَحِّي عَنْهُ

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith speaks of the importance of obedience and following the commands of the Prophet. It is narrated that Ali was commanded by the Prophet to sacrifice two rams on his behalf, and he did so without hesitation. This shows us that we should always be willing to obey Allah and His Messenger, no matter what it may require from us. We should also strive to do our best in fulfilling any command given by Allah or His Messenger, as this is a sign of true faithfulness and devotion. Furthermore, this hadith also teaches us about sacrificing for Allah's sake; it is an act of worship which can bring great rewards from Him if done with sincerity and dedication.
