The Consequences of Concealment

SUMMARY: Concealing someone who has been dishonest is wrong and is considered to be the same as being dishonest.

Narrated Samurah ibn Jundub: The Prophet said: To begin with, anyone who conceals one who has been dishonest about booty is like him.

Do what is right and not cover up any wrongdoing or dishonesty
EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith teaches us that it is wrong to conceal someone who has been dishonest. It implies that if we are aware of someone's dishonesty and do not report it or take action against it, then we are just as guilty as the person who committed the dishonesty in the first place. This hadith also teaches us that there will be consequences for our actions; if we choose to conceal someone's wrongdoing then we will face punishment for our decision. We should always strive to do what is right and not cover up any wrongdoing or dishonesty.
