Prayer Practices of Sa'id bin Jubair and Ibn 'Umar

SUMMARY: This hadith is about the prayer practices of Sa'id bin Jubair and Ibn 'Umar, which they learned from the Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ).

Salamah bin Kuhail said "I saw Sa’id bin Jubair he called the iqamah at Al Muzdalifah and offered three ra’kahs of the sunset prayer and two ra’kahs of the night prayer. He then said "I attended Ibn 'Umar". He did like this in this place and he (Ibn 'Umar) said "I attended the Apostle of Allaah". He did in a similar way in this place.
حَدَّثَنَا مُسَدَّدٌ، حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى، عَنْ شُعْبَةَ، حَدَّثَنِي سَلَمَةُ بْنُ كُهَيْلٍ، قَالَ رَأَيْتُ سَعِيدَ بْنَ جُبَيْرٍ أَقَامَ بِجَمْعٍ فَصَلَّى الْمَغْرِبَ ثَلاَثًا ثُمَّ صَلَّى الْعِشَاءَ رَكْعَتَيْنِ ثُمَّ قَالَ شَهِدْتُ ابْنَ عُمَرَ صَنَعَ فِي هَذَا الْمَكَانِ مِثْلَ هَذَا وَقَالَ شَهِدْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَنَعَ مِثْلَ هَذَا فِي هَذَا الْمَكَانِ

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith tells us about the prayer practices of two prominent companions of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, Sa'id bin Jubair and Ibn 'Umar. They both attended the Prophet ﷺ in Al-Muzdalifah and observed his prayer practices there. After learning from him, they followed similar practices in their own prayers. This hadith teaches us that we should follow the example set by our beloved Prophet ﷺ in all aspects of life including our prayers. We should strive to learn from his teachings and emulate them as much as possible.
