QUICK LESSONS:
Show respect for places of religious importance, follow in Prophet Muhammad's footsteps when performing acts of worship .

EXPLANATIONS:
The hadith narrated by 'Abd Allaah bin Abi Aufa tells us about an important part of the Islamic pilgrimage known as Umrah. During this pilgrimage, Muslims visit Makkah and perform certain rituals such as circling around the Ka’bah seven times and praying two rak’ahs behind a station known as Maqam Ibrahim. This station is believed to be where Prophet Abraham stood while building the Ka’bah with his son Ishmael. It is important to note that although Muslims are allowed to enter into the Ka’bah, it was reported that Prophet Muhammad did not do so during this particular instance. Instead, he chose to pray two rak'ahs behind Maqam Ibrahim in order to show respect for its significance in Islam. This hadith teaches us that we should always show respect for places of religious importance and follow in Prophet Muhammad's footsteps when performing our own pilgrimages or other acts of worship.
