Keeping Ihram Until Sacrificing Animals

SUMMARY: The Prophet (ﷺ) did not take off his ihram after his 'Umrah until he sacrificed his sacrificial animals.

Hafsah, wife of the Prophet said Apostle of Allaah, how is it that the people have put off their ihram and you did not put off your ihram after your 'Umrah. He said I have matted my hair and garlanded my sacrificial animal, so I shall not put off my ihram till I sacrifice my sacrificial animals.

QUICK LESSONS:
Wait for your goals to be achieved before taking any action or celebrating your success prematurely; Strive to do what is right even if it means waiting longer than others or going through more difficulty than others; Remember that Allah rewards those who are patient in their faith and deeds.

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the importance of keeping one's ihram until they have sacrificed their sacrificial animal. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ was asked why he had not taken off his ihram after completing his 'Umrah and he replied that he had matted his hair and garlanded his sacrificial animal, so he would not take it off until the sacrifice was made. This teaches us that we should be patient and wait for our goals to be achieved before taking any action or celebrating our success prematurely. It also shows us that we should always strive to do what is right even if it means waiting longer than others or going through more difficulty than others. We should also remember that Allah rewards those who are patient in their faith and deeds.
