Sunan Abi Dawud 1758 (Book 11, Hadith 38) #22050
Following the Rules of Ihram for Sacrificial Animals

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (SAWS) would send sacrificial animals to Makkah and follow the same rules of Ihram as a pilgrim.

Ai’shah said: The Messenger of Allah (SAWS) would send the sacrificial animals as offerings (to Makkah) from Madinah. I would twist the garlands of the sacrificial animals ; thereafter he would not abstain from anything from which a pilgrim putting on Ihram abstains.

QUICK LESSONS:
Follow religious obligations no matter where you are or what you are doing
EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith narrated by Aishah tells us about how the Prophet Muhammad would send sacrificial animals from Madinah to Makkah as offerings. He would also twist garlands for these animals. Furthermore, he followed all the rules of ihram that a pilgrim must follow when going on Hajj or Umrah. This shows us that even though he was not physically present in Makkah at that time, he still followed all the rituals and laws associated with it. It teaches us to be mindful of our religious obligations no matter where we are or what we are doing. We should always strive to do our best in fulfilling our duties towards Allah SWT and His religion.
