Sunan Abi Dawud 1667 (Book 9, Hadith 112) #21959
Generosity in Giving

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) taught us to be generous and kind even if we have nothing to give.

Narrated Umm Bujayd: She took the oath of allegiance to the Messenger of Allah and said to him: Messenger of Allah, a poor man stands at my door, but I find nothing to give him. The Messenger of Allah said to her: If you do not find anything to give him, put something in his hand, even though it should be a burnt hoof.

QUICK LESSONS:
Be generous with whatever you can offer; no act of kindness is too small or insignificant; strive for generosity in your life; bring blessings upon yourself and those around you

EXPLANATIONS:
The hadith narrated by Umm Bujayd teaches us the importance of generosity and kindness. Even if we have nothing to give, the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) advised us to put something in the hand of a poor person, even if it is just a burnt hoof. This hadith encourages us to be generous with whatever we can offer and reminds us that no act of kindness is too small or insignificant. It also teaches us that giving charity does not necessarily mean giving money; it could be anything from food or clothing items to our time and attention. We should always strive for generosity in our lives as this will bring blessings upon ourselves and those around us.
