Reciting the Quran at Night

SUMMARY: The Prophet (PBUH) used to recite the Quran in a loud and low voice at night.

Narrated Abu Hurairah: The Prophet's recitation at night was partly in a loud voice and partly in a low voice. Abu Dawud said: The name of Abu Khalid al-Walibi is Hurmuz.
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَكَّارِ بْنِ الرَّيَّانِ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ الْمُبَارَكِ، عَنْ عِمْرَانَ بْنِ زَائِدَةَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ أَبِي خَالِدٍ الْوَالِبِيِّ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، أَنَّهُ قَالَ ‏:‏ كَانَتْ قِرَاءَةُ النَّبِيِّ بِاللَّيْلِ يَرْفَعُ طَوْرًا وَيَخْفِضُ طَوْرًا ‏.‏ قَالَ أَبُو دَاوُدَ ‏:‏ أَبُو خَالِدٍ الْوَالِبِيُّ اسْمُهُ هُرْمُزُ

EXPLANATIONS:
The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ was known for his beautiful recitation of the Quran. He would recite it both in a loud voice and a low voice during the night time. This shows us that we should also take time out of our day to read and reflect on Allah's words as it is an important part of our faith. We can learn from this hadith that we should be consistent with our recitation of the Quran so that we can gain its full benefits. Additionally, this hadith teaches us to be mindful when reading or reciting verses from the Quran as it is an act of worship towards Allah SWT.
