EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith tells us that the Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, would offer two rak’ahs after every obligatory prayer except for the dawn and ‘Asr prayers. This is known as sunnah salat or voluntary prayer. It is a way to increase our reward from Allah by performing extra acts of worship. We should strive to follow in his footsteps and perform these extra prayers whenever possible.
