SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) was reported to have said that the prayer of a man in sitting condition is half the prayer, but he himself was found praying in sitting condition.

'Abd Allah b. 'Amr said : It has been narrated to me that the Messenger of Allah said : The Prayer of a man in sitting condition is half the prayer (wins him half the reward of prayer). I came to him and found him prayer in sitting condition. I placed my hand on my head (in surprise). He said: what is the matter,’Abd Allah b. 'Amr? I said; Messenger of Allah you have been reported to me as saying : the prayer of a man in sitting condition is half the prayer , but you are praying in sitting condition. He said: yes, but I am not like one of you.

QUICK LESSONS:
Obey Allah SWT & His Messenger (ﷺ) , Follow Islamic Teachings .

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith tells us about the importance of prayer and how it should be done. According to this hadith, when we pray, we should stand up and not sit down. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ himself said that if someone prays while sitting down, they will only get half the reward for their prayer compared to if they prayed while standing up. However, he also made an exception for himself as he was not like other people and could pray while sitting down without losing any reward. This teaches us that although it is important to follow Islamic teachings and do what is right, there are some exceptions for certain people who may have special circumstances or abilities which allow them to do something differently than others.

This hadith also reminds us of the importance of following Islamic teachings even if we don't understand why something has been prescribed by Allah SWT or His Messenger ﷺ . We must remember that He knows best and has our best interests at heart so it's important for us to trust Him and obey His commands without question.
