How the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) Prayed

SUMMARY: The hadith is about how the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) used to prostrate himself in prayer.

Narrated Al-Bara' ibn Azib: Al-Bara' described to us (the nature of prostration). He placed his hands (palms), reclined on his knees, and raised his hips; he said: This is how the Messenger of Allah used to prostrate himself.
حَدَّثَنَا الرَّبِيعُ بْنُ نَافِعٍ أَبُو تَوْبَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا شَرِيكٌ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ، قَالَ وَصَفَ لَنَا الْبَرَاءُ بْنُ عَازِبٍ فَوَضَعَ يَدَيْهِ وَاعْتَمَدَ عَلَى رُكْبَتَيْهِ وَرَفَعَ عَجِيزَتَهُ وَقَالَ هَكَذَا كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ يَسْجُدُ

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith explains how the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) used to prostrate himself in prayer. Al-Bara' ibn Azib described that when praying, the Prophet would place his hands on his knees and raise his hips. This is known as sujud or prostration and it is an important part of salat or prayer. It is a way of showing humility and submission to Allah SWT. It also serves as a reminder that we are all equal before Allah SWT regardless of our social status or wealth. We should strive to emulate this example set by the Prophet Muhammad PBUH in our own prayers so that we can benefit from its spiritual rewards.
