Respect for Allah SWT's words by reciting longer verses from Quran during prayers

This hadith highlights the importance of reciting two long surahs during the sunset prayer. It is narrated by Marwan b. al-Hakam and Zaid b. Thabit that they asked why short surahs were being recited in the sunset prayer when they saw Prophet Muhammad ﷺ recite two long surahs during this time instead. When asked which those two long surahs were, Prophet Muhammad ﷺ replied that it was Al-A’raf and Al-An’am, while Ibn Mulaikah added that it could also be Al-Ma’idah and Al-A’raf as well. This hadith emphasizes on how important it is to recite longer verses from Quran during our prayers as a way to show reverence for Allah SWT's words and teachings, especially at times like sunset when we are closer to Him spiritually due to its special significance in Islam .
