Sunan Abi Dawud 637 (Book 2, Hadith 247) #20928
Avoiding Pride and Arrogance in Prayer

SUMMARY: Pride and arrogance should be avoided in prayer as it will lead to punishment from Allah.

Narrated Abdullah ibn Mas'ud: I heard the Messenger of Allah say: He who lets his garment trail during prayer out of pride, Allah, the Almighty, has nothing to do with pardoning him and protecting him from Hell.

QUICK LESSONS:
Stay humble before God while praying

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the importance of avoiding pride and arrogance when praying. It was narrated by Abdullah ibn Mas'ud, who heard the Prophet Muhammad say that if someone lets their garment trail during prayer out of pride, Allah will not forgive them or protect them from Hell. This means that we should not be proud or arrogant when we pray, as this is a sign of disrespect towards Allah. We should instead focus on humility and respect for God while praying. The lesson here is that we must always remember to stay humble before God, no matter what situation we are in or how important our prayers may seem to us. We must also remember that our actions have consequences, so it's important to stay mindful of how we act during prayer time.
