Sunan Abi Dawud 617 (Book 2, Hadith 227) #20908
Validity of Prayer Despite Defilement

SUMMARY: The hadith explains that if the Imam's ablution becomes void after completing the prayer, his and those who prayed behind him's prayer is still valid.

Narrated Abdullah ibn Amr ibn al-'As: The Prophet said: When the Imam completes the prayer and sits (for reciting tashahhud), and then becomes defiled (ie his ablution becomes void) before he speaks (to someone), his prayer becomes complete. And those who prayed behind him also complete the prayer.

QUICK LESSONS:
Be mindful of your actions before starting your prayers; Take care of your ablutions; Persevere in difficult situations; Complete your prayers without interruption or distraction.

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith explains that if the Imam's ablution becomes void after completing the prayer, his and those who prayed behind him's prayer is still valid. This means that even if one has become defiled during their prayers, it does not invalidate their prayers as long as they have completed it before becoming defiled. This teaches us to be mindful of our actions and to take care of our ablutions before we start praying so that we can complete our prayers without any interruption or distraction. It also teaches us to be patient in difficult situations and not give up on something just because a minor obstacle has come in between us and our goal.
