Equal Exchange of Gold and Silver

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) advised not to sell gold or silver unless it is equal in weight.

Narrated Abu Sa'id: (Concerning exchange) that he heard Allah's Messenger saying, "Do not sell gold for gold unless equal in weight, and do not sell silver unless equal in weight".

QUICK LESSONS:
Be honest and fair in trading goods
EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the importance of fairness and justice when trading goods. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ taught that when exchanging gold for gold or silver for silver, the weights must be equal. This means that if someone wants to buy something with gold or silver coins, they should make sure that the coins are of equal weight so that both parties are getting a fair deal. This hadith teaches us to always be honest and fair in our dealings with others and not take advantage of them by giving them less than what they deserve.
