Sunan Abi Dawud 545 (Book 2, Hadith 155) #20836
Praying with a Large Number of People

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) would not pray if the number of people attending the prayer was small, but he would pray if there were a large number of people.

Abu al-Nadr said: when the Iqamah was pronounced and the Messenger of Allah saw that they (the people) were small in number, he would sit down, and would not pray; but when he saw them (the people) large in number, he would pray.

QUICK LESSONS:
Gather together as a community for worship , Encourage others to join you in your prayers , Strive towards doing good deeds .

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith speaks to the importance of praying in congregation. It is narrated by Abu al-Nadr that when the call for prayer was made and the Prophet Muhammad saw that there were few people present, he would sit down and not lead them in prayer. However, when he saw that there were many people present, he would stand up and lead them in prayer. This teaches us that it is important to gather together as a community for worship and to encourage others to join us in our prayers. It also shows us how much respect we should have for our religious practices and how we should strive to make sure they are done properly with as many people as possible.

The Prophet Muhammad's example also serves as an encouragement for us all; even though it may be difficult at times or we may feel like giving up on something due to lack of support or participation from others, his example shows us that we should never give up on doing what is right no matter what obstacles come our way. We must always strive towards doing good deeds even if it means going against popular opinion or facing opposition from those around us.
