The Pledge of Allegiance to Allah's Messenger

SUMMARY: This hadith is about the pledge of allegiance to Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) and the duties that come with it.

Narrated Jarir: I have given a pledge of allegiance to Allah's Messenger for to testify that None has the right to be worshipped but Allah, and Muhammad is His Apostle, to offer prayers perfectly, to pay Zakat, to listen to and obey (Allah's and His Prophet's orders), and to give good advice to every Muslim.
حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ، عَنْ قَيْسٍ، سَمِعْتُ جَرِيرًا ـ رضى الله عنه ـ بَايَعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ عَلَى شَهَادَةِ أَنْ لاَ إِلَهَ إِلاَّ اللَّهُ وَأَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ، وَإِقَامِ الصَّلاَةِ، وَإِيتَاءِ الزَّكَاةِ، وَالسَّمْعِ وَالطَّاعَةِ، وَالنُّصْحِ لِكُلِّ مُسْلِمٍ‏.‏

EXPLANATIONS:
In this hadith, Jarir ibn Abdullah al-Bajali narrates his pledge of allegiance to Allah's Messenger ﷺ. He promised to testify that none has the right to be worshipped but Allah and Muhammad is His Apostle. He also promised to offer prayers perfectly, pay Zakat, listen and obey orders from both Allah and His Prophet ﷺ as well as give good advice to every Muslim. This hadith teaches us about our duties towards our faith in Islam which includes worshipping only one God, praying regularly, paying charity tax or zakat, obeying orders from both God and His Prophet ﷺ as well as giving advice for fellow Muslims when needed.
