The Obligation of Taking a Bath on Friday

SUMMARY: Taking a bath on Friday is an obligation for every adult.

Abu Sa'id al-Khudri reported the Messenger of Allah as saying: Taking bath on Friday is necessary for every adult.
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مَسْلَمَةَ بْنِ قَعْنَبٍ، عَنْ مَالِكٍ، عَنْ صَفْوَانَ بْنِ سُلَيْمٍ، عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ يَسَارٍ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ قَالَ ‏ "‏ غُسْلُ يَوْمِ الْجُمُعَةِ وَاجِبٌ عَلَى كُلِّ مُحْتَلِمٍ

Additionally, this hadith also encourages us to take part in communal activities such as attending congregational prayers at mosques which are held especially during Fridays.
