Sunan Abi Dawud 315 (Book 1, Hadith 315) #20606
Generosity and Hospitality of Ansar Women

SUMMARY: The hadith is about the women of Ansar who were praised for their generosity and hospitality. They presented a musk-scented piece of cloth to the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).

'Aishah made a mention of the women of the Ansar and admired them stating that they had obliged (all Muslims). She then said: One of their women came upon the Messenger of Allah . She then reported the rest of the tradition to the same effect; but this version she said the words: "a musk-scented piece of cloth". Musaddad said: Abu 'Awanah used the word firsah (ie a piece of cloth), but Abu Al-Ahwas used the word qasrah (ie a small piece of cloth).
