Forbidden Mixtures

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (SAW) forbade the mixture of Al-Balh and dried dates, and of raisins and dried dates.

It was narrated from Ibn Abi Laila, from one of the Companions of the Prophet SAW, that: The Prophet SAW forbade (mixtures of) Al-Balh and dried dates, and of raisins and dried dates.
أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ، قَالَ أَنْبَأَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ، عَنْ شُعْبَةَ، عَنِ الْحَكَمِ، عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي لَيْلَى، عَنْ رَجُلٍ، مِنْ أَصْحَابِ النَّبِيِّ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ نَهَى عَنِ الْبَلَحِ وَالتَّمْرِ وَالزَّبِيبِ وَالتَّمْرِ‏.‏

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about a prohibition that was taught by Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. He forbade mixing Al-Balh with dried dates, as well as mixing raisins with dried dates. This prohibition is based on Islamic teachings which emphasize moderation in all aspects of life. Eating too much or too little can both be unhealthy for us, so it is important to find a balance between them. Additionally, this hadith teaches us to be mindful when we are eating and not to mix different types of food together in order to maintain our health.
