Prohibitions of the Prophet Muhammad (SAW)

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (SAW) forbade wearing garments dyed with safflower, wearing silk, reciting the Quran while bowing and wearing gold rings.

It was narrated from Ibn Hunain, that 'Ali said that: The Messenger of Allah SAW forbade garments dyed with safflower, and from silk, and reciting Qur'an while he is bowing, and from gold rings.
أَخْبَرَنِي إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ مُوسَى، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا شَيْبَانُ، عَنْ يَحْيَى، أَخْبَرَنِي خَالِدُ بْنُ مَعْدَانَ، أَنَّ ابْنَ حُنَيْنٍ، حَدَّثَهُ أَنَّ عَلِيًّا قَالَ إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ نَهَى عَنْ ثِيَابِ الْمُعَصْفَرِ وَعَنِ الْحَرِيرِ وَأَنْ يَقْرَأَ وَهُوَ رَاكِعٌ وَعَنْ خَاتَمِ الذَّهَبِ

EXPLANATIONS:
The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ taught us many things to help us live our lives in accordance with Allah's will. One of these teachings is that certain items are forbidden for us to use or wear. These include garments dyed with safflower, silk clothing, reciting the Quran while bowing and gold rings. By following these prohibitions we can ensure that we are living our lives in a way that pleases Allah and brings us closer to Him. We should strive to follow all of the teachings of the Prophet ﷺ so that we can be rewarded in this life and in the hereafter.
