Follow teachings of Prophet Muhammad ; Abide by prohibitions ; Adorn oneself modestly .

This hadith is about the prohibition of wearing gold in its entirety. It was narrated by Abu Shaikh that while he and Mu'awiyah were on a pilgrimage, Mu'awiyah gathered a group of the Companions of Prophet Muhammad and asked them if they knew that the Messenger of Allah had forbidden wearing gold unless it was broken into smaller pieces. They replied affirmatively, confirming that this prohibition did indeed exist. This hadith teaches us to be mindful of our actions and to follow the teachings of Prophet Muhammad as closely as possible. We should not wear gold in its entirety, but rather break it down into smaller pieces if we wish to adorn ourselves with it.
