QUICK LESSONS:
Strive for justice and fairness in all situations; Show mercy whenever possible.

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the prisoners of Qurayza, a Jewish tribe in Medina during the time of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. It was narrated by 'Atiyyah that they were examined and whoever had grown pubic hair was killed, while whoever hadn't grown it was allowed to live. This shows us that justice and fairness are important values in Islam as everyone should be treated equally regardless of their age or gender. The Prophet ﷺ also taught us to be merciful even when we are punishing someone for their wrongdoings, as he only ordered for those with pubic hair to be killed instead of all the prisoners. We can learn from this that we should always strive for justice but also remember to show mercy whenever possible.
