EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith teaches us that stealing is wrong and should not be done. It also tells us that if someone does steal something, then they will face a punishment. The punishment mentioned in this hadith is cutting off the thief's hand if they have stolen something worth at least one-quarter of a Dinar. A Dinar was an old form of currency used in the past and it was equal to about 4 grams of gold or silver. Therefore, this hadith teaches us that stealing anything more valuable than 4 grams of gold or silver will result in severe consequences.
