Praising Someone

SUMMARY: The Prophet (PBUH) praised someone and said that he is better than another person.

A similar report was narrated from 'Alqamah bin Wa'il from his father, from the Prophet. Yahya (one of the narrators) said: "He is better than him". 1
أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا جَامِعُ بْنُ مَطَرٍ الْحَبَطِيُّ، عَنْ عَلْقَمَةَ بْنِ وَائِلٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ بِمِثْلِهِ ‏.‏ قَالَ يَحْيَى وَهُوَ أَحْسَنُ مِنْهُ

The Prophet (PBUH) praised someone and said that he is better than another person which shows us how we should appreciate each other's qualities without belittling anyone else's abilities or achievements. We should strive to be the best version of ourselves while still being humble enough to recognize when someone else has done something great or achieved something remarkable.
