Strive to buy good quality items and pay a fair price for them. Do not take advantage of others when trading.

This hadith speaks to the importance of fairness in trade. It was narrated by Abu Salih that a man from among the companions of the Prophet asked him if it was permissible to buy Saihani dates or 'Idhq dates for an amount equal to mixed dates, which are of inferior quality. The Prophet replied that they should sell them for silver and use it to purchase better quality items. This teaches us that we should always strive to buy good quality items and pay a fair price for them, rather than settling for inferior goods at a lower cost. We should also be mindful not to take advantage of others when trading, as this would be considered unfair and unjust.
