Estimation of Ararya Sales

SUMMARY: The Prophet granted a concession allowing estimation for Ararya sales, so long as they were five Wasq or less.

It was narrated from Au Hurairah that the prophet granted a concession allowing estimation for Ararya sales, so long as they were five Wasq or less then that

QUICK LESSONS:
Be honest when estimating values for goods being sold in an Ararya sale.

EXPLANATIONS:
The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ granted a concession allowing people to estimate the amount of goods being sold in an Ararya sale, so long as the amount was five Wasq or less. This means that if someone was selling something and they did not know exactly how much it weighed or cost, they could estimate it as long as it was five Wasq or less. This is an important lesson in honesty and trustworthiness; even though the seller may not know exactly how much their goods are worth, they should still be honest about their estimation and not try to take advantage of the buyer by overestimating the value of their goods. Additionally, this hadith teaches us that we should always strive to be honest in our dealings with others and never take advantage of them for our own gain.
