Avoiding Trade Meetings on the Way

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad forbade meeting traders on the way.

It was narrated from Ibn 'Umar that: the Messenger of Allah forbade meeting traders on the way.
أَخْبَرَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ نَهَى عَنِ التَّلَقِّي

In this hadith, he prohibited meeting traders on the way as it could lead to unnecessary spending or other activities that are not beneficial for one's spiritual journey. This hadith teaches us to be mindful of our actions and how we spend our time while traveling. We should focus on what is beneficial for ourselves and others instead of engaging in activities that do not bring any benefit or reward in this life or the hereafter.
