Sahih al-Bukhari 190 (Book 4, Hadith 56) #190
The Seal of Prophethood

SUMMARY: The Prophet (ﷺ) prayed for a boy's health and the boy saw the seal of Prophethood between his shoulders.

Narrated As-Sa'ib bin Yazid: My aunt took me to the Prophet and said, "O Allah's Messenger ! This son of my sister has got a disease in his legs". So he passed his hands on my head and prayed for Allah's blessings for me; then he performed ablution and I drank from the remaining water. I stood behind him and saw the seal of Prophethood between his shoulders, and it was like the "Zir-al-Hijla" (means the button of a small tent, but some said 'egg of a partridge'. etc)

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about a young boy who was taken to the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ by his aunt. His aunt asked the Prophet ﷺ to pray for her nephew as he had an illness in his legs. The Prophet ﷺ then passed his hands on the head of the young boy and prayed for Allah's blessings upon him, after which he performed ablution and allowed him to drink from it. The young boy then stood behind him and saw that there was a seal between his shoulders, which is known as Khatam an-Nabiyyin or ‘the seal of prophethood’. This seal is believed to be like a button or egg of a partridge, depending on who you ask! This hadith teaches us that we should always seek help from Allah through prayer when we are facing difficulties in our lives, no matter how big or small they may be. It also reminds us that we should always have faith in Allah’s power and mercy, as He can help us overcome any obstacle if we put our trust in Him alone.
