QUICK LESSONS:
Mentioning Allah’s Name when releasing trained dogs or shooting an animal with a mirad

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith discusses the permissibility of eating game hunted with trained dogs and a Mirad. 'Adiyy bin Hatim asked the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ if he could eat game caught by his trained dogs. The Prophet ﷺ said that it was permissible to do so as long as he mentioned Allah's name when releasing them. He also said that it was permissible to eat game shot by a Mirad as long as it penetrated the target. However, if it only hit the target with its broad edge then one should not eat from it. This hadith teaches us that we should be mindful of Allah's name in all our actions and be thankful for His blessings upon us.
