Worshiping Allah and Being Sincere Towards Muslims

SUMMARY: The Prophet accepted Jarir's pledge to worship Allah, establish Salah, pay Zakah, be sincere towards Muslims and forsake idolaters.

Jarir said: "I came to the Prophet when he was accepting (the people's) pledge, and said: 'O Messenger of Allah, extend you hand so that I may give you my pledge, and state your terms, for you know best'. He said: 'I accept you pledge that you will worship Allah, establish Salah, pay the Zakah, be sincere toward the Muslims, and forsake the idolaters".
أَخْبَرَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ قُدَامَةَ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا جَرِيرٌ، عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ، عَنْ أَبِي وَائِلٍ، عَنْ أَبِي نُخَيْلَةَ الْبَجَلِيِّ، قَالَ قَالَ جَرِيرٌ أَتَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ وَهُوَ يُبَايِعُ فَقُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ابْسُطْ يَدَكَ حَتَّى أُبَايِعَكَ وَاشْتَرِطْ عَلَىَّ فَأَنْتَ أَعْلَمُ ‏.‏ قَالَ ‏ "‏ أُبَايِعُكَ عَلَى أَنْ تَعْبُدَ اللَّهَ وَتُقِيمَ الصَّلاَةَ وَتُؤْتِيَ الزَّكَاةَ وَتُنَاصِحَ الْمُسْلِمِينَ وَتُفَارِقَ الْمُشْرِكِينَ

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the importance of worshipping Allah and being sincere towards other Muslims. It was narrated by Jarir who came to the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ asking him to extend his hand so that he could give his pledge. The Prophet ﷺ accepted his pledge on the condition that he would worship Allah, establish salaah, pay zakaat, be sincere towards other Muslims and forsake idolaters. This hadith teaches us that we should always strive to worship Allah alone and be kind and honest with our fellow believers. We should also stay away from any form of idol-worshipping or polytheism as it is a major sin in Islam.
