The Consequences of Killing a Muslim

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) warned that if two Muslims fight and one kills the other, both will be in Hell.

It was narrated from Abu Musa Al-Ash'ari that : The Messenger of Allah SAW said: "If two Muslims confront each other with swords and one of them kills the other, then the killer and the slain will both be in Hell". A man said: "O Messenger of Allah, (we understand about) the killer, but what about the one who is killed?" He said: "He wanted to kill his companion".

QUICK LESSONS:
Respect human life & avoid violence at all costs

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the consequences of killing another Muslim. It was narrated by Abu Musa Al-Ash'ari that the Prophet Muhammad said that if two Muslims confront each other with swords and one kills the other, then both will be in Hell. A man asked what would happen to the person who was killed and the Prophet replied that he wanted to kill his companion as well. This hadith teaches us an important lesson about how serious it is to take someone's life, even if it is another Muslim. We should always strive for peace and avoid violence at all costs because we never know what could happen when we resort to physical confrontation with others. We should also remember that Allah will judge us for our actions on Judgment Day, so we must always strive to do good deeds and stay away from sinning or taking someone else's life unjustly.
