Sunan an-Nasai 3954 (Book 36, Hadith 16) #18487
Greeting Jibril (AS).

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) greeted Jibril (AS) and received his salutations.

It was narrated that 'Aishah said: "The Messenger of Allah said: 'O 'Aishah, this is Jibril and he is sending greetings of Salam to you'." The same.
أَخْبَرَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا الْحَكَمُ بْنُ نَافِعٍ، قَالَ أَنْبَأَنَا شُعَيْبٌ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، قَالَ أَخْبَرَنِي أَبُو سَلَمَةَ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ، قَالَتْ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ‏ "‏ يَا عَائِشَةُ هَذَا جِبْرِيلُ وَهُوَ يَقْرَأُ عَلَيْكِ السَّلاَمَ ‏"‏ ‏.‏ مِثْلَهُ سَوَاءٌ ‏.‏ قَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ هَذَا الصَّوَابُ وَالَّذِي قَبْلَهُ خَطَأٌ

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith narrates the story of when the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) was visited by the angel Jibril and received his salutations. It is a reminder to us that we should always greet each other with peace and kindness as it is a sign of respect for one another. We should also remember to show respect to those who are more knowledgeable than us such as prophets or angels. This hadith also teaches us that we should be humble in our interactions with others and not take ourselves too seriously.
