Sunan an-Nasai 3945 (Book 36, Hadith 7) #18478
Asking Permission to Enter

SUMMARY: The wives of the Prophet sent Zainab to ask for permission to enter and she was granted it.

It was narrated that 'Aishah mentioned a similar report and said: "The wives of the Prophet sent Zainab and she asked him permission to enter and she entered". And she said something similar. Ma'mar contradicted the two of them; he reported it from Az-Zuhri, from 'Urwah, from 'Aishah.

QUICK LESSONS:
Ask for permission before entering someone else's space/home

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the importance of asking permission before entering a place. It was narrated that Aishah mentioned a similar report and said that the wives of the Prophet sent Zainab and she asked him permission to enter and he granted her access. Ma'mar contradicted this report from Az-Zuhri, from 'Urwah, from 'Aishah. This hadith teaches us that we should always ask for permission before entering someone else’s space or home as it is respectful and polite behavior. We should also respect other people’s privacy by not entering their homes without their consent or knowledge as this could be seen as an invasion of privacy or lack of respect for them. Additionally, we should always be mindful when visiting someone else’s home so as not to cause any disruption or discomfort in their space.
