Sunan an-Nasai 3508 (Book 27, Hadith 120) #18120
Remarriage After Nifas

SUMMARY: A woman who had recently gone through the period of Nifas (postpartum) was criticized for wanting to remarry, but the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said that there is nothing wrong with her doing so.

It was narrated that Abu As-Sanabil said: "Subai'ah gave birth twenty-three or twenty-five days after her husband died, and when her Nifas ended she expressed her wish to remarry and was criticized for that. Mention of that was made to the Messenger of Allah and he said: 'There is nothing to stop her; her term has ended'."

The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) then clarified that there is nothing wrong with her wanting to remarry after her postpartum period has ended. This teaches us that women should not be judged or criticized for their decisions regarding marriage and other matters related to their lives.
