Be generous when celebrating weddings and other special occasions

This hadith highlights the importance of celebrating weddings with generosity. It was narrated from Anas bin Malik that 'Abdur-Rahman bin 'Awf came to the Prophet Muhammad with traces of yellow perfume on him. When asked about it, he told the Prophet that he had married a woman from among the Ansar and gave her five Dirhams of gold as dowry. The Messenger of Allah then advised him to give a wedding feast even if it is only with one sheep, emphasizing on being generous in celebrating such occasions. This teaches us that we should be generous when celebrating weddings and other special occasions, no matter how small or big they may be. We should also remember to thank Allah for His blessings by sharing them generously with others in our celebrations.
