Fighting in the Cause of Allah

SUMMARY: This hadith is about the importance of fighting in the cause of Allah with patience and seeking reward, facing the enemy and not running away, as it will lead to forgiveness from Allah except for debt.

It was narrated that Abu Hurairah said: "A man came to the Prophet while he was delivering a Khutbah from the Minbar, and he said: 'If I fight in the cause of Allah with patience and seeking reward, facing the enemy and not running away, do you think that Allah will forgive my sins?' He said: 'Yes'. Then he fell silent for a while. Then he said: 'Where is the one who was asking just now?' The man said: 'Here I am'. He said: 'What did you say?' He said: 'What did you say?' He said: 'I said: I said: If I fight in the cause of Allah with patience and seeking reward, facing the enemy and not running away, do you think that Allah will forgive my sins?' He said: 'Yes, except for debt. Jibril told me that just now'."

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is narrated by Abu Hurairah and it talks about how fighting in the cause of Allah with patience and seeking reward, facing the enemy and not running away can lead to forgiveness from Allah. The Prophet was delivering a Khutbah when a man asked him if he would be forgiven if he fought in such a way. The Prophet said yes but Jibril then informed him that debt would be an exception. This hadith teaches us that we should strive to fight for what is right even if it means facing our enemies without fear or hesitation as this will bring us closer to God's mercy. It also reminds us that we must always pay our debts on time as this is one thing which cannot be forgiven by God no matter how much effort we put into doing good deeds.
