The Recitation of Surat Al-Baqarah at Jamratul 'Aqabah

SUMMARY: This hadith is about the Prophet Muhammad standing at Jamratul 'Aqabah and reciting Surat Al-Baqarah.

'Abdur-Rahman bin Yazid said: "I saw Ibn Masud stone Jamratul 'Aqabah from the bottom of the valley, then he said: ;This - by the One beside Whom there is no other God-is the place where the one to whom Surat Al-Baqarah was revealed stood"'.
أَخْبَرَنَا مُجَاهِدُ بْنُ مُوسَى، عَنْ هُشَيْمٍ، عَنْ مُغِيرَةَ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ يَزِيدَ، قَالَ رَأَيْتُ ابْنَ مَسْعُودٍ رَمَى جَمْرَةَ الْعَقَبَةِ مِنْ بَطْنِ الْوَادِي ثُمَّ قَالَ هَا هُنَا وَالَّذِي لاَ إِلَهَ غَيْرُهُ مَقَامُ الَّذِي أُنْزِلَتْ عَلَيْهِ سُورَةُ الْبَقَرَةِ

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the Prophet Muhammad standing at Jamratul 'Aqabah and reciting Surat Al-Baqarah. It was narrated by Abdur-Rahman bin Yazid, who saw Ibn Masud stone the area of Jamratul 'Aqabah from the bottom of the valley. He then said that this was where the one to whom Surat Al-Baqarah was revealed stood. This hadith teaches us that we should be mindful of our actions and words, as they are being observed by Allah SWT, even in places we may not expect it to be seen or heard. We should also strive to recite Quran regularly, as it is a source of guidance for us in our lives.
