Supplicating at Arafat

SUMMARY: The Prophet was supplicating at Arafat and his she-camel began leaning, so he took the halter with one of his hands while raising the other hand in supplication.

It was narrated that Usamah bin Zaid said: "I was a companion rider with the Prophet at Arafat. He raised his hands in supplication, so his she-camel began leaning and he dropped her halter, so he took the halter with one of his hands while he was raising the other hand".

EXPLANATIONS:
The hadith narrated by Usamah bin Zaid tells us about an incident that happened when the Prophet was supplicating at Arafat. His she-camel began leaning and he dropped her halter. To prevent her from falling over completely, he took the halter with one of his hands while still raising the other hand in supplication. This hadith teaches us that even when we are engaged in worship or prayer to Allah SWT we should not forget our worldly responsibilities and duties. We must be mindful of our obligations to others as well as to Allah SWT. It also shows us how important it is for us to be attentive and aware of our surroundings even during times of worship or prayer so that we can take care of any potential problems before they arise.
