Celebrating Islamic Holidays

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) taught that the days of Arafat, sacrifice and At-Tashriq are days of celebration for Muslims.

It was narrated from Uqbah bin Amir that the Messenger of Allah said: "The day of Arafat and the day of sacrifice and the day of At-Tashriq are our Id, the people of Islam, and they are days of eating and drinking".
أَخْبَرَنِي عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ فَضَالَةَ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، قَالَ أَنْبَأَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ، - وَهُوَ ابْنُ يَزِيدَ الْمُقْرِئُ - قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا مُوسَى بْنُ عُلَىٍّ، قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَبِي يُحَدِّثُ، عَنْ عُقْبَةَ بْنِ عَامِرٍ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ قَالَ ‏ "‏ إِنَّ يَوْمَ عَرَفَةَ وَيَوْمَ النَّحْرِ وَأَيَّامَ التَّشْرِيقِ عِيدُنَا أَهْلَ الإِسْلاَمِ وَهِيَ أَيَّامُ أَكْلٍ وَشُرْبٍ

EXPLANATIONS:
The Prophet Muhammad taught that the days of Arafat, sacrifice and At-Tashriq are special occasions for Muslims to celebrate. These three days are known as Eid or Festival in English. On these days, Muslims should eat and drink to celebrate their faith in Allah. This is a way for them to show their love and devotion to Allah by celebrating these special occasions with joy and happiness. It is also a reminder of how important it is to be thankful for all the blessings we have been given by Allah.
