Devotion to the Kaaba

SUMMARY: Abdullah ibn Umar, may Allah be pleased with him, was devoted to touching the Yemeni Corner and Black Stone of the Kaaba whenever it was easy or difficult.

It was narrated that Nafi said: "Abdullah, may Allah be pleased with him, said: "I have not failed to touch these two corners since I saw the Messenger of Allah touching them, the Yemeni Corner and Black Stone, either when it is difficult or when it is easy'."

EXPLANATIONS:
Abdullah ibn Umar was a companion of Prophet Muhammad and he had a strong devotion to the Kaaba in Makkah. The Kaaba is a large cube shaped building that Muslims around the world face when they pray. It has two corners called the Yemeni corner and black stone which are important symbols for Muslims. Abdullah ibn Umar said that he never failed to touch these two corners since he saw Prophet Muhammad do it himself whether it was easy or difficult for him. This hadith teaches us about how devoted we should be towards our faith and how we should strive to follow in Prophet Muhammad's footsteps even if it is hard for us at times.
