Abstaining from Game while in Ihram

SUMMARY: The Prophet saw an Onager but did not take it because he was in Ihram and could not eat game.

It was narrated from As-Sab bin Jaththamah that: the Prophet came, and when he was in Waddan, he saw an Onager, but he gave it back to him and said: "'We are in Ihram, we cannot eat game'."
أَخْبَرَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ، عَنْ صَالِحِ بْنِ كَيْسَانَ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، عَنِ الصَّعْبِ بْنِ جَثَّامَةَ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ أَقْبَلَ حَتَّى إِذَا كَانَ بِوَدَّانَ رَأَى حِمَارَ وَحْشٍ فَرَدَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَقَالَ ‏ "‏ إِنَّا حُرُمٌ لاَ نَأْكُلُ الصَّيْدَ

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the importance of abstaining from game while in a state of Ihram. The Prophet saw an Onager but chose to give it back instead of taking it for himself because he was in a state of Ihram and could not eat game. This hadith teaches us that we should be mindful of our actions and respect the rules set by Allah even when we are tempted to do something else. It also shows us that we should be patient and have faith that Allah will provide for us if we follow His commands. We can learn from this hadith that following the rules set by Allah is more important than our own desires or wants.
