Sunan an-Nasai 2813 (Book 24, Hadith 195) #17424
Performing 'Umrah During Hajj Months

SUMMARY: The hadith is about the Prophet and his companions performing 'Umrah during the months of Hajj, and how they were initially hesitant to do so.

It was narrated that Ibn Abbas said: "They used to think that performing 'Umrah during the months of Hajj was one of the worst of evil actions on Earth, and they used to call Muharram 'Safar,' and say: 'When the sore on the backs of the camels have healed and when their hair grows back and when Safar is over' - or he said: 'When Safar beings - then 'Umrah becomes permissible for whoever wants to do it'. Then the Prophet and his companions came on the morning of the fourth of Dhul-Hijjah, reciting the Talbiyah for Hajj, He told them to make it 'Umrah, and they found it too difficult to do that. They said: 'O Messenger of Allah, to what degree should we exit Ihram?' He said: 'Completely'."

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the Prophet Muhammad and his companions performing 'Umrah during the months of Hajj. Initially, they were hesitant to do so as it was thought to be one of the worst evil actions on Earth. However, when they recited Talbiyah for Hajj on the morning of Dhul-Hijjah, he told them to make it an 'Umrah instead. They asked him how much should they exit Ihram for this purpose, and he said completely. This hadith teaches us that we should not be afraid or hesitant in doing something good even if it goes against what people think or say because Allah knows best what is right for us. We should also always seek guidance from Allah before making any decisions in life as He will always guide us towards what is best for us in this world and hereafter.
