Tamattu' in Hajj and its Limitations

SUMMARY: Tamattu' in Hajj is not for the people after the Companions of Muhammad.

It was narrated that Abu Dharr said concerning Tamattu' in Hajj: it is not for you, and you have nothing to do with it; it was only for us, the Companions of Muhammad".

QUICK LESSONS:
Follow teachings & example of Prophet Muhammad

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the practice of 'Tamattu'' during Hajj, which was only allowed for the companions of Prophet Muhammad. It teaches us that we should not try to imitate or follow practices that were only meant for those who lived during Prophet Muhammad's time. We should instead focus on following his teachings and example as best as we can, without trying to replicate what was done by his companions. This hadith also reminds us that it is important to be humble and accept our limitations when it comes to religious practices, as some things are only meant for certain people at certain times.
